HV PYLONS monitoring solution based on IVMS-SAT Sensor

Monitoring high voltage pylons and transmission towers is paramount in the transmission of electricity–from power plants to substations. Those critical infrastructures are at the very heart of all of our cities and critical services, and the growing need for electricity makes it essential to consistently and reliably monitor their integrity against climatic and man-made hazards. Among the factors that might affect the soundness of those structures we can count tampering and security breaches, excessive vibrations from the terrain, and extreme climatic events such as wind and cyclones due to the tropicalization of many areas and sudden spikes or falls in temperature.

Our solution for monitoring transmission towers offers the following features:

  • It’s easy to install, with low maintenance costs on the short and long run and low energy consumption;
  • It provides useful information and sends reliable early warning signals in cases of excessive stress or physical attacks/sabotage on the facility;
  • It can withstand harsh outdoor weather conditions.

Real-time detection of small structural failures

If the system detects any early signs of structural failure, it sends an alert to the customer in real time. This helps the customer to make a timely, informed decision based on the available data.

Structural stress analysis

It detects the signs of inclination and vibrations and sends a warning when the thresholds are exceeded, recognizing the first signs of subsidence caused by natural phenomena such as landslides, fires, strong winds, snow, etc.

Easy to install and maintain

The devices are wireless and solar-powered, featuring an optional battery pack, and a secure mounting system that is easy to install and maintain.
